    i'm getting sound out of synth channel one
    but not the codec? i'm sure it's a small thing but anyone know what it could be?

    Check your Mixer settings... load some of those "ready" mixersets like game1 or something.

    Otherwise, read post "EWS & Gigasampler" and try that...
